Is the sailing schedule subject to change?
All sails are tentative until our 4 passenger minimum has been reached, 24 hours prior to the scheduled charter. All sails are tentative due to rain or other hazardous weather conditions
What should I wear on the boat?
For passenger safety, no shoes with heels are allowed. This means no high heels, wedges, or heeled boots or any shoes with leather soles, no exceptions! To prevent damage to the deck, only non-skid rubber or white-soled shoes are allowed on board. It is important that you dress comfortably in layers to be prepared for changes in temperature.
Bring a jacket and wear sunscreen.
Can I cancel my reservation if something comes up?
You can cancel your reservation more than 48 hours ahead of your scheduled charter. If notice is received less than 48 hours prior to the charter, full charges are still applicable. The parties acknowledge that Sail Naiad is excused from performance in the event of severe weather conditions, lack of minimum passengers, natural disaster or some other occurrence that prevents performance. In that event, the balance will be refunded in full.
How do we subscribe to your email list to be kept informed of new events and specials?
Simply send us an email to Admin@sailnaiad.com with your preferred e-mail contact information and ask to be added to our email list. We will keep you up to date on all our Sail Naiad special events, newly added group tours, special discount codes and any flash sales available for our charters.
How do I check-in prior to my sail?
Check-in begins 20 minutes prior to any scheduled charter. It is important to be on time for check in to allow sufficient time for all guests to be signed in so the boat can depart on schedule. Please instruct everyone in your group that EACH adult is responsible for signing in for themselves AND for any minor(s) in their care. Adults are not permitted to sign for other adults, as you are signing a Guest Registry, Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk of Hazardous Activity.
Once each passenger signs in, he/she will remain on boat until departure.
Can children sail aboard the Naiad?
People of all ages are welcome aboard Naiad. Each child counts as a passenger regardless of age. For pricing, any passenger that is 14 years of age and under is considered a child. Children that are 3 years of age and under must have a reservation, but will be given a complimentary spot aboard the boat unless we fill to capacity, at which time child pricing will be charged. The Sail Naiad office will contact you in the event that the boat fills to capacity and we must charge for the child. Parents are responsible for their children at all times while aboard.
Children’s Life Jacket Policy: All children that are 12 years of age and under are required to wear a life jacket that is completely secured at all times per Coast Guard regulation. Please provide the office a list of the age and weight of every child that will be under your reservation prior to the scheduled sail so we are prepared with the appropriate life jacket. child must wear a life jacket at all times when aboard, unless they are below deck in the cabin. however, as soon as children are “above Deck” their life jacket must be on! NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is NOT ALLOWED aboard Naiad. Kindly refrain from smoking in the area of the dock or anywhere near the boat or other passengers. Please note that vape pens are also not permitted aboard Naiad.
What are Sail Naiad safety policies?
Naiad is Coast Guard Auxiliary inspected vessel and carries all required insurance. The boat is equipped with Coast Guard required safety equipment including life vests to accommodate every passenger in the event that lifejackets are necessary. Passengers are not required to wear life vests unless they are under a certain age and weight (see Children’s Life Jacket Policy). If you would like a life vest, please request this upon check-in and one will be provided for you to use while aboard. Please return all life jackets once your sail is completed. Thank you!
Is Naiad hadicapped or wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, the Naiad is not handicap accessible. Passengers will need to be able to board the Naiad by climbing the two step boarding ladder and then make a wide step onto the boat. They will also need to be able to navigate themselves into the cockpit by stepping over the cockpit combing onto the seating area and then take an extra large step down onto the cockpit sole. (In addition, obviously they will need to perform the same in reverse upon return to the dock.) Also, should they need to use the head (aka toilet) while aboard, please note that it is a very small area that requires climbing down a step ladder to access.
What is maximum capacity aboard the Naiad during a charter?
The maximum capacity on board Naiad is 6 passengers, plus crew. Both Infants and any children all apply to the head count and must have a ticket to board the vessel. This passenger allowance is strictly regulated by the United States Coast Guard and cannot be adjusted by the Captain. Please refrain from any requests for additional passengers to board as the answer will always be "NO". There are absolutely NO exceptions to this capacity limitation.
Do you have WiFi aboard the Naiad?
We do NOT have WiFi aboard Naiad, but you will have cell phone reception out on the water during your excursion.
Do you allow fishing off of the boat?
We do not allow fishing at any point during our public charters. Charters involving fishing may be considered on a private charter and must be discussed prior to booking the charter.
What happens if the boat is damaged during a charter?
Any damages caused by guests to the Naiad are the responsibility of that guest.
Is there a toilet aboard? (Toilet aka Head)
There is a very small marine head on board, however its operation is very different than a normal toilet and please note that they are easily clogged and very sensitive! Therefore, please try to use a toilet prior to checking in or boarding. However If necessary to utilize the onboard toilet PLEASE NOTE, ABSOLUTELY NO materials other than items that once passed over your tongue should enter the toilet. (i.e. no paper, no feminine products, paper towels, etc.) Even used toilet paper must be placed in the trashcan.
Toilet Operation: The are directions posted on the wall. The handle to the right side of the toilet must be pumped up and down while pressing a small foot pedal by the floor. The foot pedal allows water to enter the toilet while pumping (when pressed with your foot). Once all materials are flushed out, make sure the foot pedal is all the way up and no water enters when you pump the handle.
Do I need to bring identification with me?
All passengers 18 years of age and older must carry a State or Federal government issued photo ID per Coast Guard regulation. Please have your identification available at check-in to present with your ticket.
Is food and beverage included in the price of the charter? May I bring food and beverage aboard Naiad?
If pricing includes food and beverages, these will be as stated exactly as provided in the description of the charter. Passengers are always welcome to bring any food or beverages desired (including alcoholic beverages). Picnic style finger foods are strongly recommended and we kindly request that you refrain from fried chicken, which can leave a mess for passengers that follow. Anyone consuming alcoholic beverages aboard must be of legal drinking age as per their ID verified at check-in.
